Recharge This Fall at Mount Rainier: Your Guide to Waterfalls & Wellnes

by Don & Susie Karstedt

As a real estate agent and lover of all things Mount Rainier, I can't help but share an idea for an amazing fall retreat that I know you'll enjoy. Imagine taking a break from the everyday grind and reconnecting with nature, right in our own backyard. The Mount Rainier region is a perfect setting for this—where the vibrant autumn colors and crisp mountain air will refresh your spirit.

Here’s a perfect 2-night, 3-day Waterfalls & Wellness itinerary that will leave you feeling rejuvenated and inspired. Picture yourself hiking along peaceful, colorful trails, listening to the calming sound of waterfalls, and indulging in wellness experiences designed to help you relax.

Day 1:

Start by checking into one of the many charming accommodations near Mount Rainier. Whether you prefer a cozy cabin, a posh vacation rental, or even a tiny house, there are over 70 options to choose from. Two of my favorites are:

  • Paradise Village: This Ukrainian-inspired haven offers a range of accommodations, plus a wellness center and mouthwatering food. It’s the perfect place to start your wellness journey.
  • Wellspring Cabins and Spa: Nestled in the woods, this spot offers unique stays like a treehouse and features tranquil amenities like a reflection pond and a labyrinth.

To kick off your relaxation, treat yourself to a soak in the famous Cannibal Hot Tub at Paradise Village—heated over an open fire! Or, enjoy the new wood-fired sauna, both perfect ways to ease into your retreat.

Day 2:

After a restful night, take a leisurely morning stroll along the Trail of the Shadows, a flat and easy path through the forest and past geothermal springs. You can also visit Christine Falls and Narada Falls, both accessible by car, where you'll be treated to stunning views of waterfalls and Mount Rainier’s beauty.

Then, head to Myrtle Falls near Paradise for a peaceful hike with breathtaking views. There’s even a bench where you can sit, take in the scenery, and reflect on the day.

Day 3:

Before heading home, why not indulge in some much-needed self-care? Book a massage with Mountain Song Massage and help you fully relax.

On your way out, stop by Eatonville to explore Cascadia Crystals and Botanicals, where you can pick up some crystals or aromatic herbs to remember your peaceful getaway.

Bee Therapy:

Don't forget to discover the rejuvenating benefits of bee therapy at Paradise Village, where up to 1 million bees buzz beneath you in six hives! This unique treatment is believed to restore damaged biofields, enhance immunity, balance the nervous and endocrine systems, improve blood circulation, and aid individuals with respiratory issues. This is an exclusive two-hour session for one person at a time for $50.

With fall in full swing, now is the time to breathe deep and enjoy every moment. And hey—if you fall in love with the area (which I think you will!), let’s chat about finding you a home or vacation retreat near this natural beauty. After all, who wouldn’t want to live close to this year-round tranquility?
